Oceanic Seafoods is focused on the importance of conservation of marine stocks and maintaining a natural
balance in the ocean environment. We have recognised the problems facing the industry and consistently
look to advise our customers of the importance of sustainability and where possible to source product
from farmed or sustainable quota.
We take our responsibility to sustainable fishing practices very seriously
We take the issue of sustainability very seriously and across all aspects of our business, both
internationally and here in the UK. The key aspects of our sustainability policy are outlined below:
- We promote line-caught fishing for its selection of mature fish and minimal by-catch
- We actively promote the avoidance of the use of species from the 36 most heavily depleted stocks on
the MSC register
- We have full traceability back to vessels with evidence that their catch falls within quota
- We recognise the work of the Marine Conservation Society and the Marine Stewardship Council. Oceanic
and a number of our processing facilities are accredited by the MSC where certification is available
- Oceanic Seafoods Limited is an MSC approved company
- Oceanic Seafoods is a member of the Sustainable Seafood Coalition. We are working with like-minded businesses towards a sustainable future for fish. Find out more at sustainableseafoodcoalition.org
